The Average Civilian’s Guide to Superhero Fashion
It’s the grand premiere day of BATMAN! However this post is not an ode’ to Batman, but it is an ode’ to fashion inspired by Superheroes of all likes. Now I’m not talking about silk-screened T’s with an emblazoned Superman or Batman logo. Nor am I talking about memorializing some Superhero straight out of a comic cover and slapping it onto a T.

Throughout the years several designers like Giorgio Armani, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Jean Paul Gaultier, and others had created Superhero-inspired haute couture for the runway. A tribute for Superhero customs/fashion was recently produced by the Metropolitan Museum of Art several months back which displays all the Superhero-inspired haute couture as well as movie costumes from our favorite DC and Marvel heroes (or villains!), such as my favorite sex-vixen Catwoman costume from Batman Returns 1992.

Metropolitan Museum is open to the public and the Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy exhibit is going on now until September 1, 2008. See the Metropolitan Museum website for more information.
Yay for Superheroes! ![]()
