Da Givenchy

I watched Givenchy’s Fall/Winter 08-09 Haute Couture and Ready To Wear runway show the other day on their website www.Givenchy.com. In a previous post of mine I discussed how inspired I am by Alexander Wang’s Fall/Winter collection only to discover that Givenchy is just as inspiring.

Givenchy’s Haute Couture is innovative with a futuristic undertone considering the oversized boots.

This one is my favorite of Givenchy’s Haute Couture collection: Coat in tobacco brown waxed leather lind with alpaca fur, worn with a shirt in tobacco brown lamb leather and a skirt in machine stone washed denim.

I love the Paneled jacket: Paneled jacket in peat colored boiled wool and mohair set with a gilet in hand galvanized metal mesh worn with a matching Bermuda leggings in silk jersey and a jumper in knitted cashmere.

These boots are crazy, but oh-so interesting at the same time: Sleeveless jacket in tobacco brown “black cross saga mink”, alpaga fur and quilted, stone washed denim, worn with a Bermuda in matching stone washed denim and leggings in silk jersey.

The next pictures are Givenchy’s Ready To Wear that is just as innovative, but less elaborate and noticeably more acceptable for wear to an average person.

I am really digging the shorts with leggings from both this collection and the Haute Couture collection: Short black wool jacket. Pullover with ruffles and scarf in white merino wool. Black leather shorts. Leggings in black accordion fabric. Black spazzolato leather boots.

And now for something completely different and a little softer, plus those sandals are gorgeous: Lichen wool gabardine dress with embroidered corset. Ruffled skirt in cloud jersey. Gold leather sandals.
